Oil on Wood

Utilizing the grain and knots in the wood, each composition is unique to the wood it is painted on. I do not have a preconceived painting in mind, rather I let the wood speak to me and the composition emerges. The oil glazed over the birch creates a luminous painting that accentuates the subtleties within.
